Servicing

If you have portable fire equipment such as fire extinguishers, suppression systems, fire hose reels and/or fire blankets installed within your business it’s important and a requirement of NZS4503 that they are inspected every 12 months as a minimum to ensure they remain in good working order.

Each fire extinguisher should also have a maintenance tag attached, indicating the month within the year that it was inspected. Every five years the extinguisher should be completely emptied and hydrostatically tested by an approved tester. The year that test was completed should also be indicated on the maintenance tag. Please click on the picture to the right to see a maintenance tag and how to read it.

Mainland Extinguishers is a member of the Fire Protection Association of New Zealand (FPA) and has been servicing portable fire equipment for businesses across the Top of the South for over two decades.

“Mainland has been looking after our company’s fire equipment for the past seven years with friendly, efficient service. Always professional and easy to deal with.”

How WE work

With our fully equipped service vans we are able to cover local, rural and forestry areas. We can repair, fill or service all fire extinguishers and MIG bottles. On completion we produce a maintenance report which the customer gets a copy of for their files. We also keep a full record of maintenance records if required by an insurer or for health and safety purposes.
